氣候變遷與食物的關係

地球上有著超過7億的人口,每天、每個人的基本生活需求就是飲食,而每日均衡的飲食原則是必須攝取足夠的蛋白質、碳水化合物和脂肪,這意味著食物對人類的重要性。當人們想要獲得更多的食物時,對地球資源的需求就會相對增加,然而,近年來地球人口增加的速度明顯減緩,但對食物的需求卻反而是大幅增加,飲食不再只是維持生命需求而已,有的是更多的享受。面對這樣的狀況,地球資源與食物的供不應求,我們是必須做些什麼。

首先,我們可以從改變飲食習慣開始。因為光是為了供應動物性食品的消費,就佔去了地球一半的使用水資源和18%的全球溫室氣體排放量。

Ooh Cha Cha 自然食目前和Green Monday正攜手合作,Green Monday是設立於香港的一間B型企業,由聯合創辦人楊大偉發起了『無綠不歡星期一』的活動,致力推廣週一素食日。

Green Monday 的核心理念從實踐週一無肉飲食開始,推到更廣闊的層面,就可以為我們的生態帶來不同的影響。目前Green Monday的理念已經擴及16個國家,如日本、韓國、新加坡、美國、英國、德國及墨西哥等等,甚至美國南加州大學和匯豐銀行也都支持這樣的活動。

Ooh Cha Cha自然食致力於尋找有機和當地小農的蔬果來源 。我們所選擇的食材供應商有獲得B企業認證的 綠藤生機、雨林聯盟認證、公平貿易組織及USDA 有機認證。我們希望可以提供更健康、更友善的純植物餐點給消費大眾。

Climate Change and Food

More than 7 billion people share the Earth and all of them need to eat. A balanced diet includes protein, carbohydrates, and fat. As people consume more and more food, the demand on the Earth increases. Population growth is slowing down, but consumption is increasing. Something’s got to give.

One way we can address this is with our eating habits. Consuming animal products accounts for half of water use in places like the United States and 18% of global green house emissions.

Ooh Cha Cha is partnering with Green Monday to address this issue. Green Monday is a social venture based on the concept that changing your diet for just one day out of the week can make a huge difference. Green Monday has already entered the market of 16 countries, including Japan, Korea, Singapore, US, Germany, Mexico and more, and with organizations like UCLA and HSBC.

Ooh Cha Cha sources organic and local ingredients. Its suppliers include organizations like Green Vines, a B-corp, and many others that are part of the Rainforest Alliance, the Free Trade Organization, and USDA Organic. Our goal is to make healthy plant-based food an accessible option for the Taipei market.
